How Karlie Kloss, Mandy Moore, Kit Harington, Miley Cyrus and others said “I Do”  By Lisa Brown

From elaborate nuptials that stretched on for days (Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas) to a tiny City Hall affair presided over by The Fat Jew, 2018 was a vintage year for celebrity weddings.

Some were a total surprise. Comedian Amy Schumer revealed she’d tied the knot with boyfriend Chris Fischer on Instagram with a simple “yup”, while long-term on/off couple Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth ended the year by revealing an intimate Christmas wedding party.

Some went all-out for their big day: Pusha-T’s and Virginia Joy Williams’ Virginia Beach ceremony was attended by Kim Kardashian West and Pharrell Williams – who was best man, while influencer Chiara Ferragni and rapper Fedez’s Italian ceremony featured a Coachella-themed after-party and a private plane for family and friends.

Miguel and Nazanin Mandi

Longtime sweethearts Miguel and Nazanin Mandi first met when they were both 18, and officially became man and wife on November 28 at Hummingbird Nest Ranch outside Los Angeles.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk

Paltrow and Falchuk tied the knot in a September 29 ceremony. The couple’s children made up the bridal party and Paltrow wore a custom Valentino Couture lace dress, which was revealed in a wedding photo gallery shared on her lifestyle site Goop. Guests included Cameron Diaz and Robert Downey Jr.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas reception arrival

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding was a highly anticipated event that didn’t disappoint. The lavish celebrations kicked off the weekend of December 1 and featured a traditional Hindu ceremony at the luxurious Umaid Bhawan Palace, A List guests – including the bride’s sister-in-law to be Sophie Turner, and multiple outfit changes that included a stunning Ralph Lauren dress with a 75-foot veil and a Ralph & Russo Couture look for the pre-wedding ceremony. And just when it seemed to be all over… the couple threw another post-honeymoon wedding party in Mumbai a few weeks later.

Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner

After a three-month engagement, supermodel Karlie Kloss revealed she had married businessman Joshua Kushner on October 18, in New York. The couple reportedly had an intimate Jewish ceremony, attended by less than 80 people. They reportedly plan to have a bigger celebration next year.

Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor

Reality TV couple Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor described their lavish summer wedding at Whithurst Park in West Sussex – owned by Hugo’s uncle – as an “out-of-body experience.” The bride wore a bespoke Kate Halfpenny dress and guests included Poppy Delevingne and Jodie Kidd.

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie

Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie celebrated their June 23 wedding in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. The couple was all smiles as guests, which included GOT co-stars Emilia Clarke and Sophie Turner, showered them with petals outside the church. The reception took place at Leslie’s Scottish family estate, which includes Wardhill Castle.

Emily Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard

Model Emily Ratajkowski was the ultimate surprise wedding of 2018. The model announced on Instagram that she’d married producer Sebastian Bear McClard – who she had only apparently been dating for a few weeks – in a low-key City Hall ceremony in New York in February. Instagram star “The Fat Jew” acted as celebrant, and while there was no big white gown, Ratajkowski looked perfectly chic in a netted hat and caramel-colored trouser suit.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

Just when you thought wedding season was coming to an end, longtime couple Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth topped off 2018 with a private ceremony at the singer’s Tennessee home on December 23. Rumors of the nuptials began after photos from a friend emerged on Instagram that appeared to show a Miley in a white dress. She later confirmed the marriage with her own romantic shots of the big day, one captioned “10 years later.” The star wore a white, Vivienne Westwood off-the-shoulder dress.

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer

Amy Schumer also nonchalantly shared her wedding news on Instagram in a post that simply read “yup,” along with a shot from the private ceremony. The comedian apparently couldn’t wait to marry chef Chris Fischer in February and the no-fuss affair reportedly took less than a week to plan. Schumer’s dog Tati was a key member of the bridal party.

Pusha-T and Virginia Williams

2018 was a huge year for Pusha-T’s career, but it was also a pretty great one personally. After dating for 11 years, the rapper tied the knot with Virginia Williams on July 21, in a beautiful and traditional ceremony in their hometown of Virginia Beach. The guest list included Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West, and best man Pharrell Williams.

 Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard

Model Chanel Iman and New York Giants’ Sterling Shepard exchanged vows in a white rose-filled Beverly Hills ceremony on March 3. Joe Zee and Rob Younkers

Fashion industry guru Joe Zee married designer Rob Younkers on October 5, at New York’s upscale farm-to-table restaurant Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The couple welcomed 130 guests, including actress Julianne Moore, and kept the ceremony personal with vows that they had written themselves.

Hayley Bloomingdale and Alexander “Dada” Stileman

Heiress Hayley Bloomingdale married designer Alexander “Dada” Stileman in a Santa Barbara ceremony in late October. From the custom-made Carolina Herrera dress to the ocean-side cocktail reception, the couple’s big day was both lavish and laid-back.

Chiara Ferragni and Fedez

Influencer Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad and Italian rapper Fedez exchanged vows on September 1 in Sicily. The big day included three Dior outfits for the bride, 160 guests, a Coachella-themed after party, and colorful smoke bombs that went off as the couple kissed. There was also a private plane that flew family and friends to the ceremony. Upon landing, they were greeted by mascot versions of the couple. As you might expect, all very Instagram-friendly.
